23/11/24, 11:00 pm
A Wellington meeting to review the association’s activities, discuss community issues, and plan future initiatives, including expanding the Arabic School project.
The Syrian Arabic Association in New Zealand held a meeting in Wellington attended by members of the executive committee, representatives of the Syrian community, several activists, and friends of the association.
The gathering aimed to review recent activities, discuss the issues and concerns of the Syrian community, and address key challenges along with ways to meet its needs.
Discussions included a presentation of programs and initiatives carried out by the association to serve the community, whether through social and cultural support or educational activities and national events. Participants emphasized the importance of expanding volunteer work and encouraging active participation from all segments of the community to strengthen unity and enhance the community’s positive presence in New Zealand.
The meeting also explored ways to develop the association’s work in other New Zealand cities, reactivate the Syrian community’s role in contributing to New Zealand’s development, and expand the Arabic School initiative in Auckland to other locations to preserve language and cultural heritage for younger generations.
The meeting concluded with agreement on a future action plan with clear objectives and practical steps to improve the association’s performance and communication with all members of the community.
