End of Year 2023 Ceremony – Qiyam Educational Centre, The Syrian Arabic Community in New Zealand

On 22 December 2023, The Syrian Arabic Community in New Zealand, through its Arabic school Qiyam Educational Centre, hosted its first End of Year Ceremony at the Mount Albert Memorial Hall Community Centre. This milestone event was the first of its kind organised by Arabic communities in New Zealand, bringing together students, parents, and community members in a vibrant cultural and educational celebration.

The program included student performances, cultural presentations, and the distribution of end-of-year certificates, recognising the achievements of students in their Arabic studies and community involvement. Guests also enjoyed a shared lunch and participated in activities that reflected Islamic values and Arab cultural heritage.

The event not only celebrated the success of Qiyam Educational Centre’s academic year but also set a precedent for future cultural and educational gatherings by Arabic communities across New Zealand.
